Save the date for the seminar on opening gas markets in the Baltics – 6th November 2019

Finland, Estonia and Latvia will open a common gas market from the beginning of 2020. After this it is possible for gas users to purchase their gas from any supplier on the market. Lithuania is naturally connected to the market area and has important infrastructure, such as the Klaipeda LNG terminal, in its possession. Further a gas interconnection (GIPL) will be established by the end of 2021 between Lithuania and Poland. Lithuania is an important part next to the new market area, but not yet a part of it.

Finnish-Lithuanian Business Associaton (SuLi) and Finnish Energy (Energiateollisuus) will arrange a seminar on the opening of the gas market on Wednesday 6th November 2019 in the afternoon. During the seminar both Finnish and Lithuanian experts and stakeholders will share their view of the market opening in Finland and questions to be solved in order to get Lithuania to join the common market area later.

The seminar will be held in Helsinki. Exact time and venue will be shared later, but save the date already now.
